I'm honoured to share that I've been appointed Ontario's Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.

Thank you to Premier Ford for this vote of confidence. I take this responsibility seriously, and I'm excited to get to work supporting the businesses, artists, communities, and visitors who make Ontario such a remarkable place.

I also want to thank Solicitor General Michael Kerzner for his leadership and support during my time as Associate Solicitor General. It was a privilege to work alongside him and an incredible team whose professionalism and dedication made every day meaningful. I'm proud of what we accomplished together.

To the colleagues, partners, and stakeholders who supported that work: thank you.

Ontario writers: looking for support to start a new project or continue a work in progress? 📚
This funding opportunity offers grants of $1,500 to $5,000 to help professional writers create new literary work, from fiction and poetry to literary non-fiction, children's literature, young adult literature, comics, and graphic novels.
✅ Key dates and information:
• Program runs from September 8, 2026, to January 15, 2027 (1 p.m. ET). Recommenders set their own application review schedules and deadlines.
• Apply to up to 10 recommenders during the program year. Applications may be for the same project or different projects.
• Submit one application per recommender per program year.
• Writers may be recommended for funding by more than one recommender.

Applications are now open for Obsidian's Recommender Grant for Theatre Creators! 🎭

This is a fantastic opportunity for Obsidian to fund new theatrical works by Black artists in development, regardless of age, gender identity, or career stage. ✨

Generously supported by the Ontario Arts Council - Conseil des arts de l'Ontario, this program provides successful applicants with funding between $1000 and $3000 dollars to be put towards the creation and development of new Black Canadian work. Please note that this money cannot be used towards a production of a play.

The Recommender Grants for Theatre Creators program supports the creation and development of new work, through funding recommendations provided by professional theatre companies.
📅 Program timeline: September 8, 2026 → January 8, 2027, at 1 p.m. ET – but recommender organizations’ deadlines vary!

Our offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026. We hope you spend the long weekend recharging, creating, mending, making, or finding inspiration for your next project.
