Daily Bread Food Bank We are Toronto’s food bank. We are on a mission to eliminate food insecurity and advocate for solutions to end poverty.

As a leader in the fight against hunger, Daily Bread is more than a food bank. In addition to providing food, Daily Bread also provides services such as community information and referrals, job training, crisis counselling, community gardening and community kitchens, research and public policy, the Who's Hungry report as well as training workshops for staff and volunteers at our member agencies.

Today we hosted a group food sort as part of Toronto Tech Week at Daily Bread!

Toronto Tech Week is a citywide celebration of the people building what’s next. It brings founders, investors, and builders together for hundreds of community-led events across Toronto, and we were so grateful to be a part of it!

When we put out the call for community champions to participate in the Purolator Red Bag School Challenge, 13 schools stepped up. Together, they collected an amazing 11,603 pounds of food in support of Daily Bread Food Bank. That means 11,603 meals for neighbours in need! 🥫

👏 A huge congratulations to our winning school, who collected the most food! As the challenge champions, they celebrated with a very sweet reward: an afternoon visit from an ice cream truck parked right at their school 🍦

As hunger and food insecurity continue to rise across our city, we're so grateful to every participating school for their compassion, generosity, and commitment to giving back.

As food insecurity continues to rise across Toronto, yesterday’s Daily Bread Food Bank Member Agency Conference reminded us of the power of shared experience.

Over 100 staff and volunteers representing our network across Toronto came together to learn, share, and strengthen the work happening every day to support neighbours with dignity, compassion, and care.

From advocacy and accessibility to harm reduction and client-centred service, the day was a powerful reflection of what’s possible when we collaborate to meet growing needs, together.

Creativity met community impact at this year’s Canstruction Toronto competition! 🏗️🥫

From larger-than-life sculptures to iconic recreations, 17 incredible designs transformed the TD Centre, First Canadian Place, and Exchange Tower — all built entirely from canned food in support of Daily Bread.

This year, 81,613 cans of shelf-stable food items were used in the designs to help support people across Toronto experiencing food insecurity. Over the past 24 years, Canstruction has donated more than 1 million pounds of food to Daily Bread.

A huge thank you to every team, volunteer, sponsor, and organizer who helped make this year’s event possible. Your creativity and generosity continue to make a meaningful difference in our city.

When Jemma moved to Toronto in 2025, she started creating tiny illustrations inspired by the city’s neighbourhoods, landmarks, and everyday moments, just for herself.

One video later, Toonie Stamps was born: miniature Toronto-inspired prints sold for $2 to make art accessible and celebrate the city’s communities. Now, Toonie Stamps is giving back.

Throughout May, half of the proceeds from every stamp sold will support Daily Bread Food Bank — helping provide meals for the more than one in ten Torontonians who rely on food banks for emergency food access.

For Jemma, the partnership reflects what Toonie Stamps has always been about: connection, community, and celebrating the city we share. And we're so grateful for the support 💛
