We are saddened to report that the Driftwood community has been affected by a fire, resulting in the destruction of a home belonging to a mother and her four children, aged 14, 20, 16, and 11. The family members impacted are my granddaughter and her mother and siblings. I am taking the initiative to organize support and invite interested parties to contact me. The family urgently requires essential items due to the winter season. Your contribution would make a significant difference, and donations can be made to [email protected]. As we approach the end of 2023 we want to share some of our experiences this year at Breakaway Relief Foundation. This year has undoubtedly been challenging for many and we're humbled for the folks who have trusted us to help in their times of need. In 2023, we were able to counsel families who were at their lowest due to managing their household necessities like food and financial security as well as their health needs. We also took the important stance of advocating for the hundreds of asylum seekers who've come to Canada without secured shelter only to be turned onto the streets. We've worked closely with community churches and shelters to ensure they can be as comfortable as possible while having access to vital necessities. Sadly, we learned this week that an asylum seeker has passed away while waiting to be placed in a shelter. We are truly sorry for this loss and we recognize that we must continue to advocate for asylum seekers so that they too can build their life in Canada.

As we're wrapping up the year we will be continuing with our winter toy drive. If you know of a family that needs a helping hand with holiday toys for their children, please encourage them to contact the agency via our email: [email protected]

The toys are here they are late but they are needed by all the families who relies
on the agency for a toy for their children. The rush now is to sort, label and distribute. We do have a few volunteers. Break Away Relief foundation has been distributing toys to the underserved families since 2005. It is always a joy to make others feel included especially during the holiday season Thanks to Chum Christmas wish foundation and all the individuals who donate yearly to make this holiday season possible. We have given out food hampers we were short this year with the hampers and hope that we could still collect donations to help the families who we could not help. FOUNDATION would like to say thank you to everyone who have reached out to us and donate and continues to support our cause. We want to wish you a happy holidays and all the best for 2022.

Seasons greetings friends of Breakaway Relief Foundation stakeholders and community families. As the holidays quickly approaches us and the Omicron viruses are spreading quickly. We at the agency are in need of food stuff to take residents through these challenging times. This year we have collected and distributed very little food hampers with turkeys and are very short of food hampers. Our hope is that with your generosity we still have a few days to put a smile on some facing and filled the mouths of some families who depends on agencies like us to come through for them.This year like last year our toys distribution are late due to the lack of volunteers to fill the toy orders. As we experience some uncertain times due to the new variant .We asked that you dig deep in your Pockets and support our cause to help us feed the less able people in our community. They are quietly waiting help from us but we could not do it by ourselves.We are reaching out to every one who is able to give us a help by means of non perishable food stuff or a financial donation. We would like to give away toys to all the Children who were unable to have toys because the stores are closed. As the festive season draw closer while some people are planning for the holidays many people are not looking forward to the For some people due to the pandemic and or a loss of a loved one they will spend the holidays alone. Breakaway Relief Foundation continues to be on the front line assisting underserved community members. 2020 has shown us just how many people still need help and resources in order to continue to thrive.
