🎶 Dr. Zaslaw is the editor of the Köchel-Verzeichnis 2024, published by Breitkopf & Härtel. In this presentation, he will share insights from the 30-year process behind the monumental project of compiling the new Köchel-Verzeichnis. A brief Q&A session will follow.

The Canadian Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (CAML) invites the submission of proposals for its 2025 virtual conference.

The conference and AGM will be held May 13 and 14, 2025. The theme of this year's conference is Shaping the Future: Music Stewardship, Advocacy, Technology, and we welcome proposals that explore the following ideas, or otherwise align with the conference theme:
· Reconciliation in Music Archives

· Changing Practices in Cataloguing and Metadata

· The Role of AI in the Changing Work of Music Libraries

· Beyond Music and Sound: Expanding definitions

· The Intersection of Born-Digital Music and Digital Preservation

· Print in a Digital Age: Coexistence or Obsolescence?

· OMR and MEI: Technologies Shaping the Future of Music Archives

· The Changing Landscape of Music Libraries and Documentation Centres

· Interdisciplinary Futures: Collaborations Beyond Music Libraries

· Building Bridges Between Practice and Research

· Other future possibilities?


Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes and will be followed by a 10-minute question and discussion period. Proposals should include a 250-word abstract and a biographical sketch of no more than 100 words. Proposals for sessions, roundtables, and plenaries are also welcome.

Les présentations ne doivent pas dépasser 20 minutes et seront suivies d'une période de questions et de discussion de 10 minutes. Les propositions doivent inclure un résumé de 250 mots et une notice biographique de 100 mots maximum. Les propositions de séances, tables rondes et plénières sont également bienvenues.

CAML Review, the official publication of CAML, is requesting submissions for the 2024 December issue. An open-access publication which appears twice a year, CAML Review includes peer-reviewed research articles, along with reports, news, essays, and reviews, with particular focus on music in Canada, music librarianship and archival management, and bibliography. Articles may be of any length; research articles are normally 4000 to 6000 words. Submissions may also take the form of creative works such as first-person narratives, interviews, memoirs, poetry.

For standard academic papers please send an abstract of 250-words; for creative works please send a short description of the intended submission to [email protected].

The deadline for submission is September 16 (for peer review) and October 14 (for non peer review). Please send submissions and questions to [email protected]. Here are the submissions guidelines: https://caml.journals.yorku.ca/index.php/caml/submission


CAML Review, la publication officielle de CAML demande des soumissions pour le numéro de décembre. Une publication en libre accès qui paraît deux fois par an, R***e de l’ACBM comprend les articles de recherche pour examen par des pairs, ainsi que les rapports, nouvelles, essais et critiques touchant des sujets pertinents aux objectifs de l’Association, en particulier ceux touchant à la musique au Canada, à la bibliothéconomie musicale, à la gestion des archives musicales, et à la bibliographie.Les contributions peuvent être aussi sous la forme de travaux créatifs tels que des récits à la première personne, des interviews, des mémoires ou de la poésie.

Pour les travaux universitaires standards, veuillez envoyer un résumé de 250 mots; pour les travaux créatifs, veuillez envoyer une brève description de la soumission envisagée à [email protected].

La date limite de soumission est le 16 septembre (pour l'évaluation par les pairs) et le 14 octobre (pour l'évaluation non par les pairs).
