This has been a horrible & heartbreaking week for everyone in Canada’s policing community.
We are deeply saddened by the devastating loss of police officers in Hamilton Police Service, Durham Regional Police Service, & Royal Canadian Mounted Police. Our thoughts are with their families, friends, colleagues, the police services, & communities who continue to grieve these tragic losses.
These deaths are a painful reminder that the well-being & safety of the people who serve our communities must always be a priority.
Across policing, there is a shared commitment to supporting our officers. Police leaders & employers, police associations, governments, & partners throughout the policing community are committed to providing support, assistance & resources to those who need them.
To every police officer, & to every member of the policing community who may be struggling:
You are not alone.
Please reach out. Please talk to someone. Support is available, & there are people who care about you and want to help.
