Public Notice: Town Hall / Torbay Common Closure – Friday, September 11, 2026

Please be advised that the Town Hall Building and Torbay Common will be closed to the public on Friday, September 11, 2026, as Council and Staff will be participating in an off-site team-building event.

The Town Hall will reopen to the public on Monday September 14th at 8:30AM

Torbay Common will reopen Saturday morning and resume its regular schedule.

We appreciate residents’ understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this temporary closure may cause.

Today is the first day of school for the new year – please ensure that you are extra careful and alert as there will be an increase vehicle and pedestrian traffic today. Make sure you:
 SLOW DOWN and Watch for children, especially in and around school zones;
 Make sure you STAY ALERT when behind or approaching a school bus; and
 Ensure you STOP at all pedestrian crosswalks when people are waiting to cross the street.
On behalf of the Town of Torbay Council and Staff along with our Volunteer Fire Department - we would like to wish all returning and new students a safe and rewarding school year!

Fall is just around the corner, be sure to come check out all of our upcoming events!

Some of our programs and events require pre-registration. The fastest and easiest way to secure a spot in our programs and events is through e-Services. Anyone who is unable to use e-Services can visit the front desk at the Torbay Common during operating hours, or contact our staff by phone at (709) 437-6555 or email the event contact indicated under all of our programs and events.

Our next Public Council Meeting takes place on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Town Hall.

The Town of Torbay will return to its bi-weekly council meeting schedule once again beginning on September 14, 2026.

Meetings are open to the public and there is no need to register to attend. Meetings are also live-streamed. You can watch live via the Town’s Civic Web portal: https://torbay.civicweb.net/Portal/ or Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/NLtorbay
