Rain or Shine our last Have BBQ Will Travel is ongoing now until 2PM at INTERCITY INDUSTRIAL SUPPLY located at 669 Squier St. This is your last chance to grab a Dewey Dog or Dewey Burger for our 2026 season! Thank you so much to Intercity Industrial for having us on site today and thank you to everyone who supported us this summer! Get down to 669 Squier st. Say hi to the team and enjoy a delicious snack while on site. Thank you so much for thinking of us and we cannot wait to serve these beautiful vegetables with our daily hot meal. Thank you for the role you play in our Compassion Kitchen. Hunger does not take a holiday off so neither do we. The Dew Drop Inn will be open today from 9 am to 3:30 pm. We will also have our regular Monday senior bag program running today starting at 12:30 while supplies last. A big thank you to our staff and volunteers for giving us their precious gift of time. We appreciate your commitment that allows the Dew Drop Inn to serve a good meal daily. We could not do what we do without you

Thank you so much to Jari who stopped by this afternoon on behalf of Hilldale Lutheran Church. Jari dropped off some leftover burgers, hotdogs & salad for our Compassion Kitchen. Another WOW moment here at the Dew Drop Inn when Blake & Farmer Josh stopped by Friday afternoon on behalf of the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre Farm Program. These guys never come empty handed bringing 200 corn on the cob, multiple zucchini, 3 crates full of melons and multiple bins full of carrots & cucumbers for us to use in our Compassion Kitchen. Isn't that amazing!? Thank you so much for the role you play in assisting us to serve a good meal daily. Our kitchen team is excited to be able to serve these beautiful vegetables with our daily hot meal. Thank you so much once again for your ongoing support!

We are hiring for a full-time Kitchen Support Cook. The Dew Drop Inn is seeking an energetic individual to work with our team in a very busy, fast paced compassion kitchen. We provide a safe and welcoming environment where hungry men, women and children can access food with no questions asked and are treated with respect and dignity. You must work well with others and be able to follow instructions. Due to the sensitive nature of information that staff will be exposed to; this candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality. We are seeking someone with good communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment and who is self-motivated and can manage the workload with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of operations of our compassion kitchen, and it would be beneficial if they could perform heavier job duties as there is a lot of lifting and going up and down the stairs to the basement and main floor. Other training will include food safety and handling, meal preparation and serving, working with marginalized populations. Thank you so much to Wendy Royston for thinking of us and sponsoring our entire day here at the Dew Drop Inn. Today is sponsored in memory of Brenda Pressenger.
Entire day sponsorships include our cold bagged lunches & our daily hot meal. We had to put a fan favorite on for our hot meal today. On the menu we have lazy man shepherds pie served with a buttered bun, roasted beets, olives & a chopped salad. All of our hot meals are served with soup, choice of dessert & choice of beverage.
Many smiling faces & thumbs up enjoying this one today. Thank you so much to Wendy for thinking of us it is truly appreciated. We could not serve meals such as this without the community support. Thank you for the role you play in our compassion kitchen.

WOW Moment! Thank you so much to our friends from Memorial Home Hardware who invited us to hold one of our Have BBQ Will Travel events on this past Wednesday.
If having our BBQ team on site wasn't enough already, the team also donated $1000 for us to use in our Compassion Kitchen. Isn't that absolutely wonderful? With the rapid growing cost of food we see each day this will be extremely helpful. Thank you so much for everything you do for us. We are so thankful to have Memorial Home Hardware on our team and we cannot wait to be back next year!
