We are excited to share the link for ordering this year’s LPS Orange Shirt Day shirt, featuring a design created by Oliver Bedard, Grade 4 student from Elsie MacGill Public School.
Orange Shirt Day is recognized each year on September 30th, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Wearing an orange shirt is a way to honour Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who were taken from their families and communities, and recognize the ongoing impacts of the residential school system. It is an opportunity to learn, listen, reflect, and take meaningful action as we work together towards reconciliation.
We encourage staff, students, and families to wear orange on September 30th as a visible way to show that Every Child Matters.
