The Squadron band is sporting their brand new hoodies! Generously provided by our outstanding SSC! They have also taken the name of ‘Banshee’ Flight. First because of the old RCAF fighter jet, and two because if you have ever heard a new musician practising….well….’nuff said.

Within the military there are three primary colours, Black for Navy, green for Army, and blue for Air. Music has always been described as a ‘purple’ trade, because it doesn’t matter what element you belong to, all are welcomed in the band.

Band has been a ‘safe space’ since before it was a thing. The only thing a bandie will make fun of you for is mis-playing something they know you can play well. And for being a drummer.

The video is a short video of them tonight after the learned how to do a spiral counter march. They picked it up remarkably quickly!

Today was the Female Cadet Conference and Workshop...what a great day!
