🚨Help keep our community safe this winter by removing snow and ice from fire hydrants 🚨

You can help by:
➡️ Clearing snow and ice from hydrants
➡️ Keeping a three-foot area around each hydrant free
➡️ Making sure there’s a clear path from the hydrant to the street

Every effort helps to protect our community!

This Saturday, the Thornton Station 1 firefighters will be driving around Thornton collecting items for the local food bank!! Any non-perishables are appreciated! If you are not home during these times, any items can be left on your driveway! Happy holidays!!🎄❄️☃️

Thank you Thornton Animal Clinic! This year's Pet Pictures with Santa & food drive was fantastic, and we were so happy to be there. We hope all the pets told Santa what they'd like under the tree this year.🐴🐕🐈🎅🚒

This Friday come by Essa Fire Station 1 to trick or treat for some full size chocolate bars, take some pictures with sparky and the fire trucks!! We can’t wait to see all the amazing costumes!!

A great big thank you to the many people that stopped by our Muscular Dystrophy "Boot Drive" at the Thornton Plaza over this past weekend and helped support this great cause. Also a big thanks to our Thornton firefighters along with some members from the Angus Volunteer Firefighters Association for taking the time to come out and make it a success.🚒

Our firefighters will be at the Thornton Plaza once again this weekend to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Canada. We started our annual "Boot Drive" yesterday afternoon, and we will be there this afternoon, as well as all day Saturday and Sunday. Come help us "Fill the Boot" for a great cause.🚒

If you see a volunteer firefighter’s vehicle with a flashing green light, it’s not for show—they’re responding to an emergency in their personal vehicle. Please yield and help them get to the scene safely.

The Angus Volunteer Firefighters Association & Thornton Firefighters Association, together with the Essa Fire Department, Essa Roads Department, the County of Simcoe, and other partners, have been working hard to get this important message out.
