Thank you to the dedicated members of Lambton Shores Fire and Emergency Services, South Huron Fire Department, Lambton Ontario Provincial Police - West Region and Paramedics Lambton County EMS. Responders were on scene for many hours and your professionalism and teamwork did not go unnoticed by our community.

We also want to recognize Victim Services of Sarnia-Lambton, Lambton Shores municipal staff, and The Grand Bend Legion for assisting with evacuated residents.

Finally, a huge thank you to the many local businesses, community groups and residents who reached out, offered resources, checked in on one another, and showed what community truly looks like.

It's almost the "official-unofficial" start to summer! As we head into the Victoria Day Long Weekend, we wanted to share some important reminders for those planning a visit to Grand Bend Beach.

🚫 Alcohol is not permitted on the beach

🚫 The beach is smoke and v**e free

🛟 Lake Huron water temperatures are still very cold this time of year. If you're planning a cold plunge, the Grand Bend Beach Patrol season has not started yet and lifeguards are not currently on duty

🅿️ Paid parking in Grand Bend resumes May 15, 2026. Please make sure to pay at designated parking locations or through the parking app where available

🚧 Lane restrictions due to construction on the Grand Bend Bridge are still in place and delays are likely. Crews anticipate all lanes to be reopened by June 26, 2026 and thank you for your patience

We hope everyone has a safe, enjoyable, and relaxing long weekend!
