🐢🚗 TURTLE TRAFFIC ALERT! 🚗🐢

Attention visitors and residents of Temagami!

Our local turtles have officially declared it summer and are now out and about along Jack Guppy Way (also known as the road to the Fire Tower)! 🌞🌲

These little speedsters are doing their annual cross-country trek at a blazing pace of approximately 0.5 km/h. 😆

If you’re heading up to enjoy the breathtaking views from the Fire Tower, please keep an eye out for our shelled friends:

✅ Slow down
✅ Give them space
✅ Help keep them safe by watching the road

Remember, turtles were here long before we built roads, and every turtle matters! ❤️🐢

So whether you’re a visitor exploring Temagami or a local enjoying the beautiful outdoors, let’s make sure everyone gets where they’re going safely—including the turtles!

Today, our Parks & Recreation Department is out at the baseball field working hard to get everything ready for this weekend's activities! 💪🛠️

From field grooming and cleanup to facility inspections and general maintenance, our team is making sure the ball field is safe, clean, and ready for players and families to enjoy. ⚾🌱

Today also marks 🇨🇦 National Health & Fitness Day, and June is Recreation, Parks and Seniors Month! 🎉

There is no better time to get outside and enjoy everything Temagami has to offer:🥾 Walk our beautiful trails🚴 Go for a bike ride⚾ Play baseball with friends🚣 Explore our lakes🌲 Enjoy the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us

🌲🍃 Happy National Trails Day! 🍃🌲

Did you know that the White Bear Forest Old Growth Trail in Temagami is home to some of the oldest and most significant stands of White and Red Pine forest in Ontario? 🌳

These remarkable forests have never been logged or mined and contain trees that are estimated to be 150 to 350 years old. Walking these trails is like stepping back in time, through a living ecosystem that supports unique plants and wildlife found only in old-growth forests. 🦉🐿️🌿

The White Bear Forest is also rich in Indigenous history and is part of the traditional lands of the White Bear family and the Temagami First Nation. ❤️🖤💛

Whether you’re hiking to the Fire Tower, exploring the trails, or simply enjoying the peaceful beauty of nature, today is the perfect day to discover one of Temagami’s greatest treasures. 🥾⛰️🌲

👧 Generation POUND® (Ages 6–12) – A kid-focused program that blends music, movement, and interactive activities to help build coordination, focus, teamwork, confidence, and creativity.

🧑 Adult POUND® – A full-body cardio and strength workout inspired by drumming, yoga, and Pilates. Perfect for all fitness levels and a fun way to get moving.
