Ever wonder about the RCMP uniform in the Swan River Library?
Well the man that once wore that uniform stopped by the library today.
CPL William David Ashcroft started his training in Regina Saskatchewan in 1967 and graduated Feb. of 1968
He was a forensic reconstruction specialist in accidents involving fatalities and hazardous goods.
He was transfered to Ottawa, Government House, Parliament Hill, Portage La Prairie, The Pas, Headingley, then Brandon MB where he was promoted to CPL. After 29 years with the RCMP CPL William retired with his wife Betty Ann and 2 daughters in Selkirk Manitoba.
