Visit the Surrey Nature Centre this weekend!

We are open on Saturday, September 5.
We are closed on Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7 (Labour Day)

Green Timbers Park is always open from dawn to dusk, and we invite you to spend some time among the trees, enjoy the fresh air, and connect with nature this long weekend.

We will re-open with our regular hours on Tuesday, September 8, at 8:30 a.m.

Fall Registration Opens Soon!

Fall registration for Surrey residents opens Sunday, July 26 at 9:00 p.m.

This autumn, the Surrey Nature Centre is offering a variety of programs for all ages, including:

Guided Nature Walks (no registration required for walks)

Early July is the beginning of Japanese beetle flight season!

Japanese beetles (Popillia japonica) are an invasive pest that poses a major threat to B.C. agriculture, turf, and to over 300 plant species. Adult beetles are active from June to October, with peak flight occurring during warm, sunny days (above 21°C) in July and August.

Control efforts have seen success in Vancouver, but populations in other areas of Metro Vancouver and BC still pose a challenge.

Japanese beetles were first found in BC in July 2017 in downtown Vancouver. Adult Japanese beetles can feed on over 300 species of plants, including many species of agricultural and horticultural importance.

The Surrey Nature Centre we will be closed on Wednesday, July 1 in observance of Canada Day.

While our building is closed, Green Timbers Park remains open for outdoor adventures. Bring your family and friends to explore the forest trails and take in the beauty of nature.
