We hope everyone is enjoying the Labour Day long weekend.

Tomorrow, we recognize Labour Day—a day that has been observed in Canada since 1894, with roots in the labour movement and generations of workers who fought for safer workplaces, fair wages, reasonable working hours and better working conditions.

While many enjoy a well-earned day off tomorrow, first responders and essential service workers will continue to be on the job—including our Surrey firefighters and the emergency dispatchers who answer the call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

On behalf of the Surrey Fire Fighters Association, we wish everyone a safe and enjoyable Labour Day.

To all those working through the long weekend, thank you.

The Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society is proud to announce our partnership with the White Rock Fire Fighters Charity Association in making a $50,000 donation to Peace Arch Hospital Foundation and Sources BC in support of the future Foundry South Surrey–White Rock.

Supporting youth and mental health initiatives remains an important area of focus for the SFFCS, and this new space will help ensure young people in our community have access to integrated health and wellness services when they need them.

We’re proud to stand alongside our fellow firefighters in White Rock to support this important initiative and invest in the health and well-being of local youth.
