Since 1983, the Surrey Food Bank has been assisting low income individuals and families who live in Surrey and North Delta by primarily providing bi-weekly food hampers to supplement a client's food needs. All funding comes directly from the community as the food bank does not receive any core government funding. Operations are overseen by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers and supported by

an elected Board of Directors. The Surrey Food Bank respectfully acknowledges the shared, unceded traditional territory of the Katzie, Semiahmoo, Kwantlen and other Coast Salish Peoples on which we live and work.

A huge thank you to Westland Insurance for supporting Surrey Food Bank across multiple locations this past Wednesday, including King George Hub, Guildford Station, Scottsdale Mall, and Save-On-Foods South Surrey.

What a day.

Because of this incredible community, Fill the Bay generated more than $166,000 in total impact through cash donations, matching gifts, food donations, sponsorships, and community support.

What started as an afternoon of fun, connection, and giving will help ensure our shelves stay stocked and our doors stay open for the thousands of neighbours who rely on Surrey Food Bank each month.

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, sponsored, shared our message, or simply stopped by to learn more about the work happening behind the scenes.

Special thanks to our hosts, Mark Madryga of Global BC and Howard Blank, our generous sponsors and community partners, the dedicated volunteers who made the day possible, Mayor Brenda Locke for joining us, and the Surrey Fire Fighters’ Charitable Society for celebrating with us and helping mark the recent donation of our new delivery truck.
