Our latest meeting was packed with inspiration, community impact, and vital global health updates! We celebrated club milestones, enjoyed a good laugh with the Joke of the Day, and presented a $2,500 check to BC Amateur Sport for youth softball programs.

We also received an important update on the global fight against polio, followed by a deeply moving presentation from award-winning photographer and former Polio Chair, Gabor Gasztonyi. Gabor shared powerful stories and photos from his upcoming book, The Last Polio Children, reflecting on his own journey with polio and his emotional experience meeting resilient children in Ethiopia.

Don't forget, members: annual dues are due by June 30, and tickets are now available for President-Elect Darryl Walker’s Installation on June 13!

Another inspiring Rotary meeting filled with meaningful impact and community spirit. From supporting youth sports through our donation to BC Amateur Sport, to learning about global polio eradication efforts and hearing Gabor Gasztonyi’s powerful story of resilience, it was a reminder of the difference we can make when we come together to serve. 💙

Looking back at another fantastic day of service, laughter, and community at our last Rotary meeting! 🤝💙

We had so much to celebrate last time, including handing over a $1,000 cheque to the White Rock Youth Ambassadors program, hearing an inspiring financial literacy talk from Lara Hein, and celebrating our scholarship committee doubling their student applicants this year! 🎓

Throw in a hilarious joke about identifying birds by their feet, and it’s safe to say spirits were incredibly high.

White Rock Rotary club members volunteer to build community garden in Dr Al Hogg park. The cedar and the manure dirt both smelled fresh, a great use of space as the community garden over by Centennial Arena has a waiting list and the cost of produce continues to soar. Wonderful to connect, build and socialize as Gordie Hogg, honorary member and family reminisce about their home that used to be there when they grew up!

Huge congratulations to Lee & Winston on securing a major milestone at the Whitehorse Convention! 🥂

A heartfelt shoutout as well to Dr. Harman and his longtime friend Dr. Frank Scotti, who once again proved that Miss Vicky gets it done — driving all the way from Camano Island to Whitehorse, Yukon, while making meaningful stops along the journey to share updates on the Drive to End Polio with Rotary clubs along the way. 🚗🌍

Special recognition to DG Ramesh for the incredible support and presentation of the cheque for $225,9377 - a true example of teamwork, dedication, and service above self! 🚀

And as Dr. Lee shared, District 5370 hosted one of the finest conventions he has attended in his long Rotary journey. What an unforgettable achievement for everyone involved! 👏

This week, we celebrated Semiahmoo Secondary student Jack Snead with the Leaders of Tomorrow award for his "Service Above Self," and heard an inspiring presentation from member Kingsley Griffin on how his Kingha Coffee Company is transforming the lives of over 750 farming families in Uganda.

🌟 We are incredibly thrilled to congratulate Ibrahim Shaaban on winning the prestigious $100,000 Loran Award! 🎉

Just one year after receiving our very own Rotary Club of White Rock Leader of Tomorrow Award, Ibrahim continues to prove that he is a true force for positive change. We knew he was a leader of tomorrow, and he is already proving it today!

Seeing him at our last meeting was a wonderful reminder of why we invest in our youth. Ibrahim, your character, service, and leadership truly embody the spirit of Rotary. White Rock is so proud of you!
