Collision Investigation & e-Bike Safety Reminder
On April 22, 2026, members of the Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service, alongside EMS, responded to the area of Caradoc Street and Erie Street for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist.
Emergency crews attended the scene and determined that two youths were operating a power-assisted bicycle at the time of the collision. Both youths were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation:
• A 25yr old male driver was charged with Fail to Yield from Private Driveway.
• A 40yr parent was charged with Permit Person under 16 on Power-Assisted Bicycle.
SCPS would like to remind the public that e-bikes and e-scooters are subject to provincial regulations designed to keep all roadway users and pedestrians safe.
