Strathroy-Caradoc, ON -

🚔 Compassion in Every Call 🚔

Police officers are often faced with situations that are completely unexpected, and yesterday was one of those calls.

The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service responded to a report of a deer that had been struck by a vehicle. In an incredibly rare situation, the deer gave birth to two fawns moments before passing away.

Officers immediately stepped in to care for the newborn fawns, cleaning them off and keeping them warm and safe until wildlife rehabilitators from Southwest Middlesex Animal Shelter arrived to take over their care.

Thank you to our officers for their quick response and professionalism in ensuring the fawns were protected and to Southwest Middlesex Animal Shelter for assisting with their ongoing care
