The Township of Perth South was incorporated in 1998 following the amalgamation of the Township of Downie and Township of Blanshard. Pauls Station.

The township encompasses the communities of Anderson, Avonbank, Avonton, Conroy, Flannigan Corners, Harmony, Metropolitan, Rannoch, Science Hill, Sebringville and St. Demographics

Hazardous Waste Collection Program
The Township of Perth South in partnership with the Town of St. Marys is continuing to offer a Hazardous Waste Collection Program for 2026. The first collection date will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at the Municipal Operations Centre located at 408 James Street South in St. Marys from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The Joint council meeting with the Township of Perth South and the Municipality of South Huron scheduled for tonight in Kirkton has been cancelled due to weather and is rescheduled for February 9 at 6 p.m. in Kirkton.

As of 12:00 noon on January 8, 2026 the significant weather event declaration has ended for the Township of Perth South.

The Township is grateful for the hard work and dedication of the Public Works crew who have worked tirelessly throughout this winter event.
