The Town of Stratford (PEI, Canada) and Stratford Area Watershed Improvement Group (SAWIG) partnered to create a community garden within the municipality!

This garden is located across from Cotton Park on Bunbury Road, Stratford.

Hello 2024 gardeners!🪴🌻

We are inviting you to a mandatory meeting on May 8th. If you cannot attend the scheduled session for your designated plot, you can attend the other.

At this meeting we will be covering the expectations for the gardening season, explaining garden inspections (introduced in 2023), and giving gardening tips and tricks. We also encourage you to bring seeds if you wish to participate in a seed swap with other gardeners!

We also ask gardeners to review the 2024 Garden Handbook, which has been emailed to you.

🥬🌽Attention returning community gardeners: registration is 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱 for the 2023 gardening season!

🥦🌶️Registration for returning gardeners who are not Stratford residents will open on January 23.

🥕🍅Check your email for registration details and call (902-367-3605) or email us if you have any questions!

🌿 🫑 New gardeners who are residents of Stratford can sign up beginning February 13, and all other new gardeners can sign up beginning February 20! Call (902-367-3605) or email us if you are interested.

More veggies available for free in the Stratford Town Centre! Find them outside Stratford Area Watershed's office to the left of the Recreation Centre Doors.

We have installed new number plates on each plot in the community garden to remove plots with both numbers and letters.If your plot number was higher than 33 your plot number will have changed.

Don't worry, this does not change anything, your plot is still in the same location as before. Just take note of your new plot number next time you visit the gardens.

An updated garden map is posted in/outside the shed. If you have any questions at all please let us know.

This year one plot in the Stratford Community Gardens is reserved for a pilot program that aims to grow vegetables to provide for free to the community! This first batch is available at the Town of Stratford PEI's Town Hall in the hallway between the Recreation Centre and the Administrative Offices.

*Note supply is limited - first come first served*

Big news at the Stratford Community Gardens....we now have a message board and a bin to share seeds inside the tool shed!

Note: All communication through the message board must be inline with the Rules and Guidelines agreed upon when you rented your plot.

If you are finding you have an excess of something you planted and don't think you'll harvest it all don't let it go to waste!

If you'd like to contribute let us know your plot number and what you'd like to donate asap and we'd be happy to help harvest it.
