Stony Plain is located on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional meeting grounds, gathering space, and travel route of the Cree, Saulteaux, Blackfoot, Dene, and Nakota Sioux and the homeland of the Métis Nation. In 1892, the area was known as Dog Rump Creek, until a post office was named for the region and it came to be known as Stony Plain. In 1907, Stony Plain's first Sheriff, Israel Umbach, made national headlines when he chained a locomotive to the railway tracks for non-payment of taxes, changing the course of history. Stony Plain was officially incorporated as a town in 1908. Residents enjoy a high-quality of life with access to metropolitan-level public services, amenities, and a diverse network of local businesses. A rich assortment of community events are hosted throughout the year to bring residents together and foster community spirit. In 2021, Maclean’s magazine ranked Stony Plain in the top 75 best Canadian communities, seventh in Alberta, and second in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region.

This uplifting and inspiring event will include live music, tree planting, a concession provided by the Stony Plain Youth Events Team, and plenty of community connection.

Our Forest of Hope aims to raise awareness for su***de prevention. Rooted in Hope, Connected in Community provides an opportunity for the community to come together, honour their loved ones, and contribute to a healthy and sustainable forest.

This role will provide administrative support and services to the public and RCMP members. Responsibilities include records and information management, court and legal support, public and community service and operational support.

This position is ideal for you if you:
- Are an excellent multitasker and maintain your composure in a high-pressure environment
