GriefShare is a safe, welcoming place where people understand the difficult emotions of grief. Through this 13-week group, you’ll discover what to expect in the days ahead and what’s “normal” in grief. Since there are no neat, orderly stages of grief, you’ll learn helpful ways of coping with grief in all its unpredictability, and gain solid support each step of the way.

We will have two groups meeting this fall. One on Tuesday mornings starting at 10 AM, and one on Thursday evenings starting at 6:30 PM.

To register, please use our listing on GriefShare's website by clicking this link for the Tuesday group: https://find.griefshare.org/groups/303955

"Mental health is a core part of overall well-being, influencing how people think, feel, and navigate daily life. It goes beyond the absence of mental illness and includes emotional resilience, coping skills, and the ability to manage stress and challenges. This session explores the foundations of mental health, clarifies the difference between mental health and mental illness, and introduces practical strategies to support wellness in an introductory setting. Participants will learn tools for managing stress, navigating difficulties, and understanding recovery, empowering them to take an active role in maintaining their mental and emotional well-being." ~Canadian Mental Health Association

September is World Alzheimer’s Month, an international campaign to raise dementia awareness and challenge stigma.

Nine Manitobans develop dementia every day. An earlier, accurate dementia diagnosis can mean sooner access to support, education, treatment — and greater autonomy for those living with this disease when planning for their future.

However, fear and stigma keep many people from seeking help in Manitoba and around the world. Finding and accessing resources for a dementia diagnosis can also be challenging for many.

If you are facing these barriers or are looking for support or guidance on your next steps, reach out to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.

An earlier, accurate dementia diagnosis can mean sooner access to support, education and treatment.
