🔥 Grass Fire Season Reminder 🔥

As spring starts to creep in and everything dries out, it also means one thing… grass fire season is here.

We’ve already been out dealing with a few, and conditions right now make it very easy for fires to spread quickly.

If you’re planning a controlled burn, please keep a few things in mind:

• Call it in first to your local fire department
• Check the conditions — wind, dryness, and surrounding area all matter
• Have water or dirt on hand — a hose, buckets, or equipment ready to go
• Never leave a fire unattended
• Make sure it’s fully out before walking away

What starts as a small, controlled burn can get away from you faster than you think.

Let’s keep everyone safe this season 🚒

Join NFPA® in celebrating the 100th anniversary of Fire Prevention Week™ (FPW). This year’s FPW campaign, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape™”, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires.

Today’s homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes (or even less time) to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Your ability to get out of a home during a fire depends on early warning from smoke alarms and advance planning.

Having a home fire escape plan can make a life-saving difference in a fire. Here’s how to make one!

HAPPY FIRE PREVENTION WEEK! This year’s theme is all about learning the sounds of fire safety 🔊

A chirping smoke or carbon monoxide alarm means the battery, or the entire alarm, must be replaced.

A beeping alarm means that smoke or carbon monoxide is present- Get out, call 9-1-1 and stay out! đźš’
