medical standby for public events such as rodeos, sporting events, and special venues. Stettler District Ambulance operates two ambulances 24 hours a day, seven days a week. These are staffed by a rotation of 8 full-time staff and 15 casual staff. An ambulance crew typically consists of one Paramedic and one Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), most of whom have many years’ experience in emergency services. This team is trained and equipped to handle any medical or traumatic emergency, and is able to stabilize a patient in the field before transporting to the hospital. With advances in modern technology, exciting new medical protocols and procedures, and dedication to countless hours of skilled training, the emergency room on wheels will arrive at any scene of an emergency incident prepared to provide essential life saving skills and treatment. Stettler District Ambulance is very proud of providing a high quality ambulance service to our community. Stettler District Ambulance would like to reinforce the importance of calling an ambulance if required. Our timely response can and will make a difference in patient care. Never hesitate to call an ambulance if needed, as our highly trained staff can start immediate treatment if required, prior to arriving at any hospital.

It is Alberta Rural Health Week, May 25–29, 2026, and Deputy Mayor Dusty Myshrall was joined by County of Stettler No. 6 Reeve Larry Clarke in signing the proclamation.

This week recognizes the people, communities, and initiatives that strengthen and support rural healthcare across Alberta, something we are incredibly fortunate to have in our region.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to recognize and thank our rural healthcare professionals. Their dedication makes a real difference, and we are truly appreciative of all they do for our communities.

Joining us for this proclamation signing were (L-R): Linda Borg, Manager of Stettler District Ambulance, Anya Langkow Community Consultant with Rural Health Professionals Action Plan (RhPAP), Dean Lovell Chair of our Health Professionals Attraction & Retention (HPA&R) committee and Byron Geddes HPA&R Coordinator.
