The Fire Department would like to remind residents that outdoor burning must be conducted responsibly and in accordance with the daily Fire Watch Index and provincial burning regulations.

Current dry conditions and high winds significantly increase the risk of fire spread, even from small recreational fires. Residents are strongly encouraged to check burn restrictions before lighting any outdoor fire and to avoid burning altogether when conditions are unsafe.

Wildfires can develop rapidly and place neighbouring properties, natural areas, and emergency responders at risk. Please use caution, monitor conditions closely, and ensure all outdoor fires are fully extinguished before leaving them unattended.

🗳️ Ward 4 Candidate Profile: William M. Hamon

William M. Hamon is seeking to represent Ward 4 (Taymouth region) on the Nashwaak Rural Community Council.

William shares that his decision to run was sparked by a common question he’s heard from residents facing today’s challenges: “What can I do about it?” He believes municipal government is where individuals can have a meaningful impact, and where every vote truly matters.

🏡 William came to the Taymouth area to build a home and rehabilitate a 10-acre farm in Zionville. Through this experience, he has developed a deep appreciation for the area’s natural beauty and the strong values of family and self-reliance within the community.

🛠️ He brings a diverse background, including a professional teaching career, architectural discipline, strong manual skills, and an enquiring mindset. His campaign phrase, “Put a wedge in it,” reflects his approach to thoughtfully examining issues and taking practical action.

💬 William is approaching his candidacy with curiosity, energy, and a willingness to explore solutions—inviting residents to be part of that process.

🌱 He looks forward to working with the community to better understand local challenges and opportunities, and to help shape a strong future for Ward 4.
