May 4-10 is Mental Health Week - This year’s theme, Come Together, Canada, highlights the powerful role that connection plays in strengthening our mental health. At a time when many people are feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or disconnected, coming together matters more than ever.
Here are a few ways to turn the message into real moments of connection:
Reach out - Connection can start with something simple. Call a friend. Text a family member. Say hello to a neighbour. Offer a helping hand. Small actions can turn an ordinary day into a moment of connection and remind someone they’re not alone.
Check in with yourself - Pause for a moment and notice how you’re feeling. Do you need rest? A break? A conversation? Taking time to understand what you need and reaching out for support when you need it is an important part of caring for your mental health.
Come together in everyday moments - Connection doesn’t have to be big to matter. Invite someone for a walk. Share a coffee. Start a conversation. Show up at a community event.
Little moments of coming together can create stronger relationships, stronger communities, and stronger mental health for everyone.
The more we reach out, check in, and come together, the stronger we all become!
Mental Health Week is taking place May 4 - 10! Learn how connecting with others can enhance mental health and build resilient communities.
