In this day and age, it's hard to imagine this lighthouse being so important for ships navigating Newfoundland's rugged coasts.

We would like to remind everyone to abide by the safety signage around the site - they are there for good reason!

The coast around Cape Spear is dangerous and unpredictable with high winds and irregular tides. Visitors must stay on designated trails and enjoy the site safely!
