School of Human Kinetics and Recreation

We are proudly located in the Physical Education building on the St. We offer four undergraduate programs: Bachelor of Human Kinetics & Recreation Co-operative (BHKRC), Bachelor of Kinesiology, Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Recreation. We also offer two graduate programs: a coursework route or thesis route Masters of Human Kinetics & Recreation as well as a thesis route Masters of

Science in Kinesiology. We serve approximately 370 undergraduate and 80 graduate students which allows us to get to know students on a first name basis. We are also the proud home to the Sea-Hawks! We have varsity athletes competing in basketball (men, women), volleyball (women), soccer (men, women), swimming (men, women) and cross-country (men, women). Many of our student athletes are Academic All-Canadians with USPORTS! Our programs prepare students to meet societal needs for professionals who are able to initiate and manage health and lifestyle-enhancing programs. The School encourages a close working relationship among students, faculty, and staff, and with local and national sport, health, and professional organizations. Co-operative education programs provide for the integration of academic and professional knowledge. A full-time academic program officer within the School assists students with decisions related to their academic program. The School prides itself on the extent to which senior undergraduate and graduate students are engaged in teaching, research, and scholarly activity. Many graduates of the School are leaders in the fields of physical education, sport, kinesiology, health, and recreation.
