For months, our Liberal team warned that a final deal with Quebec was at risk and that concerns existed within Quebec about whether the MOU provided enough benefit to Quebecers.

The author of a new opinion piece in Le Devoir argues Quebec would benefit more from investing in wind power at home, claiming Newfoundland and Labrador would be the primary beneficiary of Gull Island and questions the value of Quebec contributing $25.5 billion to the project.

Negotiations on a new MOU are underway, and we continue to urge the Wakeham Conservatives to secure a deal before the opportunity for significant benefits slips away.

Our Liberal Caucus stands with the community of Cartwright following the disappointing cancellation of the contract for the construction of a new school.

We call on the government to quickly bring forward a plan to ensure that the students of Cartwright get the new school they deserve.

MHA Bettina Ford helped celebrate the opening of a new Disc Golf course in Gander today!

Chilly spring weather won’t stand in the way of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians enjoying the outdoors and trying something new.

Proud to celebrate the official opening of the Gander Disc Golf Course this morning! Disc golf is a simple, low‑cost sport where players throw flying discs toward metal baskets, aiming to finish each hole in as few throws as possible. It’s fun, family‑friendly, and a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

It’s also a growing tourism draw. People travel specifically to play new courses, and having one here strengthens our recreation options while contributing to the local economy.

A huge congratulations to the volunteer Board of Directors, whose vision and hard work made this project possible, along with the strong partnership of the Airport Nordic Ski Club and their volunteer leadership. As disc golf players say, you "chained it"! 🙌

The opening event runs until 2 p.m. The course is just off the TCH a couple of minutes west of town. A chilly day, but a great opportunity to try it solo, with friends or family.

“There will be no deal without real transparency.” - Conservatives’ Blue Book.

Yet Newfoundlanders and Labradorians learned through Quebec media that a new MOU could be signed as early as next month.

At every turn, this Conservative government has chosen secrecy over accountability.

The former Muskrat Falls Oversight Committee chair is now overseeing the Churchill Falls negotiations.

The Minister of Natural Resources during Muskrat Falls is now leading negotiations.

The author of the MOU review report comes from Nova Scotia’s Muskrat Falls partner, and won’t reveal his sources.

And we still don’t “really” know what role Danny Williams is playing behind the scenes.

The deeper you look, the more Muskrat Falls connections you find and the less transparency you get.

It was great to catch up with Prime Minister Mark Carney yesterday while in Ottawa.

We had a productive discussion about the opportunities ahead for Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada, and our shared interests and goals that will help drive growth, strengthen our economy, and safeguard our children.

Thank you, Prime Minister. I look forward to continuing the conversation.

Just a few weeks ago, I introduced a motion in the House of Assembly calling for regulatory changes to restrict children’s access to social media and better protect young people from online harms.

I’m pleased to see Prime Minister Carney moving forward with legislation aimed at doing the same.

The impacts of social media on children and youth are real concerns that deserve serious action at all levels of government.
