October 12, 2023 is Ombuds Day!

As an ombuds office, the Office of the Citizens' Representative provides a confidential, impartial and independent service to the citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador who feel they may be experiencing unfairness with their interactions with provincial government services.

Ombuds around the world offer respectful services to citizens to support problem solving by addressing or resolving individual and systemic issues faced by the general public.

This year on Ombuds Day, the Citizens' Representative extends gratitude to the citizens of Newfoundland and Labrador who have trust in our office to share their experiences. We extend gratitude to our staff who believe in and work intently each day to promote fairness throughout the public service and to the staff of the public service who enable the flow of information that supports our work. We could not do our work without trust and dedication from citizens, our staff and the public service.
