On this our members took to the tools again and stretched the legs on all of our gear that we utilize when we battle grass, brush and forest fires. Even stretched our legs hiking up the hills, pulling the hoses along.

Smaller, more portable pumps, even floating pumps allow us cover more of an area and be more efficient in our tasks. You can’t always get the firetrucks where you would like, so this equipment being in top order is crucial.

Now that the weather is changing and the winter season is coming to an end, dry grass and brush are around us. Although we’re not offically into forest fire season, few close calls, we are still susceptible to these type of conditions.

With all of this being said we all need to be extra diligent in fire prevention!
