🌍❤️ WORLD POLIO DAY – TOGETHER, WE CAN END POLIO! ❤️🌍

Today, Rotary clubs across St. Catharines came together at City Hall to recognize World Polio Day and reaffirm our commitment to a world free of polio! 🌎

Members of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore, St. Catharines Rotary Club of St. Catharines South were proud to stand united for this important cause.

We were delighted to be joined by the Mayor of St. Catharines, a representative for MPP Jennie Stevens, MP Chris Bittle, Councillor Mark Stevens, and many dedicated Rotarians.

💜 For more than 35 years, Rotary has been leading the fight to eradicate polio worldwide. We are closer than ever, but our work is not finished!

Today was a wonderful reminder of what happens when Rotary clubs, community leaders, and dedicated volunteers come together with one shared goal.

🔎🕵️‍♀️ MURDER, MYSTERY & ROTARY FELLOWSHIP! 🕵️‍♂️🔍

There's been a murder… and the Rotarians are on the case! 🚨

What a fantastic evening of fun, laughter, friendship and a little detective work for the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore!

Our evening took an unexpected turn when we witnessed a MURDER! 😱 Suddenly, everyone became a suspect, clues were flying, and our members had to put their detective skills to the test to solve the crime.

🏆 And the award for TOP DETECTIVE goes to… our very own SHANNON! 👏🎉

Not only did Shannon correctly identify the murderer, but she also had to SHOW HER WORK! That's right — no lucky guesses allowed! She had to explain the clues and prove her case. Sherlock Holmes would have been proud! 🔍

Of course, the real mystery is… who knew we had such talented detectives in our Rotary club? 😂

It was an evening filled with wonderful fellowship, great company and plenty of laughs.

💙💛 Because Rotary isn't just about the great things we do for our community — it's also about the friendships we build and the fun we have together!

Who says Rotary meetings have to be serious? Sometimes they're downright MURDEROUS! 🔪😂

A Night of Global Connections, Personal Growth & New Beginnings!

Our Rotary meeting last night was extra special as we celebrated two incredible exchange student journeys and welcomed a new member to our Rotary family!

Welcome back, Clara! After an unforgettable exchange year in Burgos, Spain, Clara shared stories of cultural discoveries, amazing food, new friendships, rugby, horseback riding, and travelling to 10 countries across Europe! One of her most memorable experiences was seeing Barcelona’s magnificent Sagrada Família in person. Her year was filled with adventure, personal growth, and discovering more about herself.

Meet Maiko! Arriving in August from La Pampa, Argentina, Maiko is spending the year experiencing life in Canada while attending high school. He shared a glimpse into Argentine culture, from traditional foods like empanadas and milanesas to tango, gaucho traditions, family card games, and a love of football! A sports enthusiast who enjoys swimming and soccer, Maiko is making the most of this exciting international adventure.

A special connection between our two exchange students? Both Clara and Maiko have a twin! For both of them, their Rotary exchange has been an opportunity to step out on their own, discover their independence, and explore who they are as individuals. Sometimes, finding yourself means travelling halfway around the world!

Rotary Youth Exchange is about so much more than visiting another country. It’s about building confidence, embracing new cultures, forming lifelong friendships, and discovering just how much the world has to offer.

And one more reason to celebrate - welcome, Carm! Carm was officially inducted as a Rotarian last night, and we are delighted to welcome her to our Rotary family!

Three wonderful reasons to celebrate, one fantastic evening of fellowship, and so many reminders of what makes Rotary special.
