People sometimes ask me, “why the name Red Spruce Hollow?”
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, the Red Spruce is actually the provincial tree of Nova Scotia. My grandfather was born on a very small island in Newfoundland called Red Island. He grew up with a few families in very harsh conditions. He instilled in myself, and all of his grandchildren to get an education and never give up on your dreams.
After moving to Alberta and purchasing this acreage, I wanted to tie a piece of home, to a new life I was creating. In the center of these 17 acres, lies a perfect clearing, completely surrounded by trees. I named the section of the property “The Hollow.”
So here, the name was formed. Bringing the east coast to the west, and merging two places together that I now consider home. With this, Red Spruce Hollow Equestrian was born.
