☀️ It’s the final day of Agra Fair 2026!

The sun is shining and it’s shaping up to be a beautiful Sunday in Central Park! If you haven’t had a chance to make it down yet, there is still lots happening throughout the day.

Make sure to check out the amazing Car Show & Shine and stop by the Bench Show in the Spruce Grove Curling Rink. The midway is going, the Vendor Market is open in the Grant Fuhr Arena, and there are food trucks, old-fashioned games, pony rides, horse care demonstrations and live entertainment throughout the park.

There’s also FREE family public skating in Stu Barnes Arena from noon to 4:00, the Skate Park Competition from 1:00–4:00, and World Champion Hoop Dancer Dallas Arcand performing from 2:00–3:00.

Lots to see and do, and a great excuse to get outside and enjoy this beautiful day with family and friends!

And once again, a huge thank you to the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society, all of the sponsors and the many volunteers who have put so much time and effort into making Agra Fair happen. 🌾

🎡 Agra Fair 2026 is in full swing!

What a great start to the weekend! We kicked off the morning with some square dancing and a pancake cook-off challenge with Mayors Choy and Shaigec, followed by a fantastic parade. It was great to see so many families, friends and neighbours lining the streets and enjoying the morning together. and my amazing Councillors fully embraced 1986 as part of our 40th Anniversary!

And there’s still lots happening at Central Park!

The midway is back with rides, carnival games, elephant ears and all the fun that comes with it. Be sure to wander through the vendor market inside Grant Fuhr Arena and check out the Bench Show over at the curling club.

Around Central Park you’ll find food trucks, skate park competitions, pony rides, a petting zoo and live entertainment on stage. It was also great to have our Spruce Grove Saints players hit the ice with residents for public skating in Stu Barnes!

If you haven’t made it down yet, stop by and take in some of the action this weekend. There really is something for everyone.

A huge thank you to the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society, all of the sponsors and the many volunteers who put so much time and effort into making Agra Fair happen. Events like this bring our community together, and they simply wouldn’t happen without you.

Have a great Agra Fair weekend, Spruce Grove! 🎡

AGRA FAIR PARKING — PLEASE READ!
Heading to the Agra Fair this weekend? We’ve got parking options for you!

Parking is available at both Brookwood and Woodhaven Schools. A shuttle will run from the Brookwood School parking lot to make getting to the Fair easy and convenient.

Please help us be good neighbours! Do not park in the Spruce Grove Library or nearby business parking lots. These spaces are needed for their customers and patrons.

Thank you for helping us keep the Fair accessible, organized, and neighbour-friendly! We can’t wait to see you there! Park smart. Take the shuttle. Enjoy the Fair!

♻️ Changes are coming to your recycling collection day in Spruce Grove

Beginning October 19, blue bag recycling will move to Mondays for all neighbourhoods in Spruce Grove. The City’s post below has all the details on the new collection schedule, but I wanted to provide a little additional context on why this change is happening.

Under Alberta’s new Extended Producer Responsibility program, responsibility for residential recycling is transitioning away from municipalities and to the producers of the materials we recycle.

As part of that transition, Mondays will be dedicated to blue bag recycling, while the City will continue to manage garbage and organics collection through a contracted provider. Having separate collection days will help create a clearer distinction between the two services and avoid some of the operational confusion that can occur when different collection services are operating on the same day.

I recognize that for many of us this means having two collection days each week instead of one, and that change in routine may be frustrating.

📱 This is also a good time to sign up for collection reminders. Visit:
https://www.sprucegrove.org/services/garbage-organics-recycling/sort-with-success/. Enter your address to find your schedule and then choose whether you would like to receive text, phone call, or email reminders.

Thanks for your patience as we adjust to the new schedule

♻️ Changes are coming to blue bag recycling pick up dates to improve efficiency! Starting Monday, Oct. 19, blue bag recycling collection is moving to Mondays for all neighbourhoods in Spruce Grove.

This also means that if your black waste cart and green organics cart currently gets picked up on Mondays, your cart collection day will also be shifting effective the week of October 19:

🔹Tonewood & Fenwyck ➡️ moving to Tuesday collection
🔹Hilldowns ➡️ moving to Wednesday collection
🔹Prescott & Greenbury ➡️ moving to Thursday collection
🔹Spruce Village & Kenton Village ➡️ moving to Friday collection

If your waste and organics carts are picked up on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, they will still be collected on those days. Only recycling will shift to Mondays.

There is so much artistic talent right here in our community and across Alberta, and this is a great opportunity to come out and discover it!

The Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove’s 2026 Open Art Competition is now on display, featuring an incredible 160 pieces from Alberta artists across six different categories.

The exhibition is open for viewing through October 9, Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. And this Friday evening, everyone is invited to join the artists for a special reception and awards night from 7 to 9 p.m.

I encourage you to stop by, take some time to explore the exhibition and see firsthand the creativity and talent on display. You may even discover a new favourite local artist!

A big thank you to the Allied Arts Council, their volunteers and everyone who continues to support and create opportunities for the arts to thrive in our community. 🎨

🎡 It’s Agra Fair weekend in Spruce Grove!

If you’re looking for something to do with the family this weekend, there is going to be a lot to choose from!

From September 11–13, Agra Fair is back with three days of activities, entertainment and some great community traditions, including:

• Midway rides!
• Pancake breakfast
• The Agra Fair Parade
• Alberta’s second largest Bench Show
• An expanded Car Show
• Petting zoo
• Rooster Crow and Frog Jump contests
• Live entertainment
• Food trucks and concessions
• And so much more!

There is also some great live entertainment throughout the weekend, including Silly Wrabbit on Friday night and Canadian country artist Jordyn Pollard on Saturday night.

One of the things I love about Agra Fair is how it brings people together while celebrating the agricultural roots that are such an important part of our community.

A huge thank you to the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society, along with the many volunteers, sponsors and supporters who put in countless hours to make this weekend happen. Community events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without people willing to give their time and energy, and I’m incredibly grateful for everything they do.

There really is something for everyone, so come out, have some fun and enjoy Agra Fair 2026!
