Shuswap Fire Department Update
Serving Sorrento, Blind Bay & Notch Hill
Your local fire department is proud to serve the communities of Sorrento, Blind Bay, and Notch Hill as a paid-on-call department. Our members respond when needed, balancing training, work, and family life to be there when our community calls.
We train every Tuesday at 7:00 PM, continuously building and sharpening the skills required to respond safely and effectively to emergencies.
We operate out of two fire halls:
• One located just off the highway near Nicos Nurseryland
• One located by Sorrento Elementary School
Between these two halls, we run 8 pieces of apparatus, allowing us to respond to a wide range of incidents across Area G.
We currently have a strong team of 35 dedicated members, and we are continuing to grow and evolve. We are excited to share that we are now training for road rescue, expanding our capabilities so we can better serve and protect our community in more situations than ever before.

A Reminder to Our Community
FireSmart Your Property
As we look ahead to summer, we encourage everyone to take steps to FireSmart their properties. While the amount of rain we receive in May and June will influence the severity of the fire season, proactive work now can make a significant difference.
Simple actions like clearing debris, trimming trees, and maintaining defensible space around your home help protect not only your property, but your neighbours and first responders as well.
We are proud to serve this community and appreciate your continued support.
Stay Safe
