Becoming a mother changed me in ways I never expected.
It softened me, strengthened me, humbled me, and completely reshaped the way I saw women, families, and community. Motherhood showed me how vulnerable birth and postpartum can feel, but also how powerful and transformative it is when a mother feels truly supported.
That journey is what inspired me to become a doula.
I became a doula because mothers deserve to be cared for too. They deserve someone in their corner reminding them to rest, to eat, to heal, to trust themselves, and to know they are already enough.
Over the years, I’ve had the honour of supporting women through pregnancy, labour, birth, loss, postpartum, anxiety, healing, and rediscovering themselves.
And what I’ve learned is this…
When you support a mother, you strengthen an entire family.
When a mother feels seen, heard, and safe, she becomes the best version of herself.
This Mother’s Day, I’m reflecting on how motherhood gave me purpose far beyond myself. It led me to build villages, advocate for women, and help mothers become the best versions of themselves through support, compassion, and community.
So today, I celebrate every version of motherhood and every mother learning to grow through it. Including the version of me that was born the day I became “Mom.” 🤍
