Looking for some family-friendly fun this weekend?🦖🦋

Head to the Smiths Falls Youth Arena on Sunday, September 6th for The Keepers Wildlife Rescue! 🐾

This FREE event is a great chance to get up close with some amazing animals, enjoy live educational presentations, learn about wildlife and conservation, and even meet Bee the Transformer, Duke the Dino and Rescue Pup!

There will be three showtimes throughout the day, including a sensory-friendly show at 12:00pm, followed by full lights and sound shows at 2:00pm and 4:00pm.

September is officially Big Brothers Big Sisters Month!🩵

We're proud to share that the Town of Smiths Falls has proclaimed September 2026 as Big Brothers Big Sisters Month, with September 18th recognized as Big Brothers Big Sisters Day!

The proclamation recognizes the important role mentoring plays in helping children and youth reach their full potential, while also celebrating the incredible volunteers who give their time and support to make a difference in the lives of young people in our community.

As part of the recognition, the Municipal Complex/Bandstand and Confederation Bridge will be illuminated in teal in honor of Big Brothers Big Sisters month!

We're grateful to Shawn Pankow, Mayor of Smiths Falls and the Town of Smiths Falls for recognizing the impact of mentoring and helping us shine a light on the importance of giving young people the confidence to achieve more. Also pictured is Andrew Lynch, Chair of our Board of Directors.

Throughout September, we will be celebrating the mentors, volunteers, supporters, and community members who make our work possible, and sharing ways you can get involved.

It's Thankful Thursday!

We'd like to extend a huge thank you to the Smiths Falls Police Service for choosing Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lanark County's WAK program to support through their fundraising efforts! We are incredibly grateful for their generosity and the amount they raised to help support local youth! 🩵

We also want to give another big thank you to the YIPI students for all of their hard work and support throughout the summer. We truly appreciate the time and effort they brought to summer camp and everything they did to make it such a great experience for our campers! 👏
