W**d spraying is back in Lanark County and starting in Montague Township on Monday, June 8th, 2026!
For residents wishing to "opt out" of spraying in order to take alternative vegetation control actions to control noxious weeds within the road allowance adjacent to their lands, a No-Spray Agreement can be completed and submitted to the Township Office by June 7th, 2026, if you haven't already done so! Residents with an agreement must complete alternative vegetation control actions by June 30th, 2026. Agreements can be found on the "Roads" page of our website, montaguetownship.ca!

What a great day on Tuesday at the 22-Acre Park!☀️

📚 The Township was excited to host Mrs. Martin and her Grade 1/2 students from the 2024-2025 school year, as well as Principal Diakun, from Montague Public School - UCDSB, AND Zac from the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB)'s communications team! They helped place the VERY FIRST STORY on our Story Time Trail, with the help of our Facilities Lead Hand, Shane!

🦋 Students learned about the life cycle of a butterfly in class, then wrote a story about it! That story, Hudson's Amazing Life Cycle, features some amazing artwork by some very talented students! Next time you're at the 22-Acre Park, take a read!

💪 We're SO grateful to Rodney of Hot Rod Welding for all the work he put in to get the story boards completed! They look phenomenal, and we're excited for the use they're going to get along the trail.

SPRING LARGE ITEM DAY IS ON THE WAY!

Due to truck availability, MONDAY, June 1st is large item day for residents whose regular garbage collection day is Wednesday.

The FRIDAY route's regular collection and large item pickup are the same day (June 5th), but collection takes place with different trucks.

You may only place large items curbside on the corresponding day to your regular pickup. If your regular collection date is Wednesday, you can only place your large items out on the Monday - and the same rules apply for Friday.

Reminder that ONE (1) silver sticker is required for each large item being placed curbside for collection. Stickers cost $6 and can be purchased at the Township Office, Mobil Gas in Smiths Falls or Milano's Pizza in Merrickville.
