This little community is a national leader when it comes to FireSmart, the time and commitment that these folks put in is nothing short of amazing and the Lesser Slave Regional Fire Service is honoured to continually be invited on the journey with you! Special shout out to Marten Beach’s FireSmart Neighbourhood Champion Dan Tarney who goes above and beyond year after year planning, organizing and rallying the community together to make these great events happen!

Join us Saturday, August 22 for the Marten Beach Wildfire Preparedness Clean-Up Day.

Marten Beach has been a long-standing FireSmart community, and we’re excited to continue that work together. This is a great opportunity for community members to get involved, help reduce wildfire risk, and make a difference right here in our community.

Tomorrow (Monday) we'll be hosting our friends at Lesser Slave Regional Fire Service from around 6pm-7:30pm. They'll be bringing their fire trucks and offering tours. Bring your kids to meet the local crew and tour a truck!

We have a special bond with the local fire crew which was strengthened in October of 2019. Here is a little reminder of the mix-up that put us on the map.
