Reminder that the ferry hours extend starting in June. It will run on a continuous loop from 8am-6pm between Martin Street Public Boat Launch and Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail.

Hi everyone! It’s been wonderful to see so many people enjoying the rail trail! Our ferry captains have passed along some questions they’ve been getting, so here is an FAQ:

FERRY PICK UP LOCATIONS
Where is the ferry pick up in Sicamous?
The ferry is located on Martin Street at the boat launch. Turn toward the water on Martin St off of Riverside Ave. You’ll see a Sicamous Ferry flag at the turn off.

Where is the ferry pick up on the rail trail?
The ferry pick up on the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail is at 0.5km. It’s at the end of the rail trail going toward Sicamous, so keep going until you reach it - you can’t bike past it!

FERRY ROUTE
Is the ferry going to the Sicamous beach park?
No, the ferry is not going to the Sicamous Beach Park this year. The pedestrian walkway to the Beach Park is set to open on May 15th, so you will be able to access the beach in downtown Sicamous from Finlayson St.

PARKING
Where is the closest place to the ferry pick up to park?
There is no parking on Martin St, Temple St, or at the boat launches. The closest public parking to the ferry pick up is on Main Street or Finlayson Street.

ACCESSIBILITY
Is the accessibility on the rail trail side going to be improved?
We are aware that the access on the rail trail side is quite steep and are looking into options. We recommend those with limited mobility access the rail trail via the Folland Road Parking lot for now. We will keep everyone informed and appreciate your patience while we work out a solution.

WALKING
Can I walk on the ferry and the rail trail?
Yes, the rail trail is a great experience on bike or on foot! It is about a ten minute walk down Riverside Ave from parking on Main Street to the ferry pick up on Martin Street.

PETS
Can I bring a dog on the ferry?
Yes, dogs are welcome on leash. Please clean up after them and do not leave any waste or garbage on the trail.

WHAT TO DO IN SICAMOUS
What can I do in Sicamous while I’m here?
Sicamous is full of restaurants, shops, parks and beautiful scenery! Check out exploresicamous.ca for restaurant hours and all the activities Sicamous has to offer.

Happy Friday everyone! The Sicamous Ferry is officially on the new May schedule ☀️
It will be running back and forth to the rail trail every day from 9am-5pm 🚴‍♂️

*Friendly reminder that there is NO PARKING at the ferry pick up or anywhere along Martin St/Temple St. Unauthorized vehicles will be ticketed.
Visitors are encouraged to park on Main Street or Finlayson St and bike down Riverside Avenue to the ferry. Please refer to our parking map for the locations of Sicamous’ Public Parking Lots.
