Walkabout for Eastlink TV is looking for trail suggestions from across Nova Scotia. They are looking for day hikes and outdoor locations with great stories attached to them, including history, ecology, myths, legends, and local lore to film at for season 7. If you have a suggestion head over to the original post to submit a trail.

We’re currently scouting trails, hidden places, and story-rich outdoor locations for an upcoming season of Walkabout and we want YOUR suggestions.

Do you know:
➡️ a hidden trail?
➡️ a place with fascinating local history?
➡️ a trail tied to folklore or legend?
➡️ a beautiful outdoor spot most people don’t know about?
➡️ a path with a story passed down through generations?

We’re especially interested in the places locals treasure and tourists rarely find.

If you have a trail or location to suggest anywhere in Nova Scotia, head to the Walkabout page on Whalesong.ca and fill out our quick submission form:
https://whalesong.ca/productions/walkabout

And feel free to share this post and tag the hikers, historians, storytellers, and “people who know things” in your community!

Recreation Facility Assessment - Public Survey

The Municipality of Shelburne is doing an assessment of local recreation facilities to identify gaps, needs, and opportunities within the community. The assessment will help provide a better understanding of who is using the facilities, the activities taking place, what users value most, potential improvements, and whether there is interest in new recreation facilities or amenities. This information will be gathered through public consultation taking place this spring via this online survey, as well as through public meetings being held this fall. The deadline to complete the survey is June 10, 2026.

Complete the survey at: https://forms.gle/YXmk17SfLn6WwyrD8

Prize Draw: Complete the survey for a chance to win! Two draws for a $50 gift card to Sobeys.
