The Town of Shaunavon is a vibrant and picturesque community nestled in the southwest corner of Saskatchewan. Our diverse business sector provides a wide range of products and amenities, enabling the community to be a significant service centre in the great southwest. Shaunavon prides itself on serving a large agricultural sector and is fortunate to have a bustling oil industry. Established in 191

3, Shaunavon's pure and abundant water supply was the key resource that drew over 700 settlers in less than one year's time, earning it the nickname β€œBoomtown". In fact, Shaunavon became the first community in Canada to grow from a village to a town in under one year. Today this water supply continues to be essential to our economic growth. Shaunavon possesses multiple top notch recreation and cultural facilities which residents and tourists enjoy all year round. This is a community where neighbours become friends and where friends unite to build a community in which we can all share. We are proud of our past and excited about the potential of our future!

Limited Pool Admission Notice: June 6 β˜€οΈ

Please note that on June 6, admission to the SWT Swimming Pool will be limited due to staff training.

Our lifeguards will be participating in a lesson instructor course, helping them build the skills needed to teach swimming lessons this season. Because most of our staff will be attending, we will be operating with reduced staffing levels.

Maximum Capacity: 74 patrons at one time from 3:30 to 8:00pm June 6th.

If the pool reaches capacity, patrons may be asked to wait until space becomes available.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as our staff continue their training to provide safe, high-quality programs for our community this summer! 🌊

REMINDER: Starting THURSDAY JUNE 4TH Triways Recycling will be doing a TOWN WIDE recycling bin pickup for all residents every 2 weeks.

This adjustment is being made to improve service levels, provide greater convenience for residents, support increased participation in recycling, and reduce material accumulation between collections.

Under the new schedule, your recycling cart will be collected every two weeks on Thursdays. Residents are asked to ensure carts are placed out by 7:00 a.m. on their scheduled day.

An updated collection calendar is available below or on the Town of Shaunavon Website at: https://www.shaunavon.com/.../recycling-garbage-landfill.../ and will also be available on the Triways website.

Residents are reminded to place acceptable recyclable materials loosely in the cart and to avoid overfilling to ensure safe and efficient collection.

NOTICE: Change to Triways Recycling Collection Frequency as of June 2026

The Town of Shaunavon, in partnership with Triways Disposal, is implementing an enhancement to residential recycling services. Effective June 2026, recycling collection will change from one side of town every four (4) weeks to be a TOWN WIDE PICK UP every two (2) weeks.

This adjustment is being made to improve service levels, provide greater convenience for residents, support increased participation in recycling, and reduce material accumulation between collections.

Under the new schedule, your recycling cart will be collected every two weeks on your existing collection day. There is no change to the day of collection. Residents are asked to ensure carts are placed out by 7:00 a.m. on their scheduled day.

An updated collection calendar is available on the Town of Shaunavon Website at: https://www.shaunavon.com/page/recycling-garbage-landfill-information/ and will also be available on the Triways website. Residents are reminded to place acceptable recyclable materials loosely in the cart and to avoid overfilling to ensure safe and efficient collection.

The current four-week collection schedule will remain in place until the end of May 2026, with the new bi-weekly service beginning in June 2026.

The Town of Shaunavon and Triways Disposal remain committed to providing reliable and efficient recycling services. This change reflects ongoing efforts to enhance delivery service!
