For those of you who need to travel under the Road 38 bridge, the lake level is at 191.83 metres above sea llevel, which translates to a clearance under the bridge of 1.57m or about 62in.

For all you Road 38 bridge-go-underers (how 'bout that word, eh?) the lake level is at 191.90 metres above sea level, which translates to a clearance under the bridge of approx. 1.5m or 59 in.

Depending on how much rain we get today, that may be reduced by a little.

For those of you who may need access under the Road 38 bridge, as of this morning (Friday) the lake level is at 191.96 metres above sea level which results in clearance under the bridge of approx. 1.4m or 56 in.

For those of you who may be thinking of putting in your boat: the level of Sharbot Lake is 192.11 metres above sea level. This results in a clearance under the Road 38 bridge of 1.29 metres or about 50".

SLPOA Tree Day 2026 Deadline (20 Feb 2026) Fast Approaching

The 20 Feb 2026 Deadline to sign up for this great program is in 2 days
You may remember the Tree Day we held in 2021. Well, we’re doing it again in 2026.
• SLPOA is partnering with Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) in a program where participants can receive up to 15 native trees and shrubs for their shoreline in return for a minimum $30 donation to the MVCA's Stewardship Program (which includes a charitable tax receipt).
• Eligible participants are shoreline landowners who agree to plant within 45 meters of the lake.
• Planting native trees and shrubs provides wildlife habitat, controls shoreline erosion, and filters pollutants from entering the water.
• The plants will be bare root stock, 24”-36” tall, and available for pickup in spring 2026 at a location to be determined.
• The program includes a variety of shrubs and trees, such as Meadowsweet, Black Chokeberry, Red Maple, and Eastern White Cedar, each with specific growth characteristics and ecological benefits.
• Participants will receive a planting guide with instructions for proper care and maintenance.

In conjunction with Mississippi Valley Conservation the 2026 Tree Day is happening again this spring.  Orders must be received by February 20th.

Here's some important news for boaters from FOCA:

Update January 6, 2026 – Small Vessel Licensing Regulations: Transport Canada (TC) has implemented a new 5-year license period for pleasure craft licenses (PCL) with a $24 service fee to process new, renewed, or transferred PCL applications. There are new requirements to notify TC of changes in boat information or ownership within 30 (not 90) days.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is different than the ‘Pleasure Craft Operator Card’ that is issued in your name; this is for your boat(s). A copy of the PCL must be carried on board at all times. If you have a boat that was licensed in 1974 or earlier, you must ‘renew’ by March 31st this year, or face fines. If licensed between 1975 and 1985, you have until the end of 2026, etc. Get all the details – including a renewal deadline chart by boat license date – from our colleagues at CanBoat
