Flagstaff County is inviting qualified contractors to submit proposals for the abatement and demolition of two County-owned buildings in the Hamlet of Strome.

Attendance is required to be eligible to submit a proposal.

Please be advised that the Strome Satellite Mulch Site is now closed until demolition of the Strome Seed Cleaning Plant has been completed.

✅ The Galahad Satellite Mulch Site remains open and available for use.

Flagstaff County is inviting qualified contractors to submit proposals for the abatement and demolition of two County-owned buildings in the Hamlet of Strome:

📍 5012 – 50th Street – former fibreglass manufacturing business
📍 5200-08 – 50th Avenue – former Seed Cleaning Plant

The work includes comprehensive hazardous materials abatement, demolition, disposal and site preparation in accordance with applicable regulations and industry standards.

♻️ New curbside recycling is coming to Strome and Galahad!

Starting next month, residents in both hamlets will have access to curbside recycling through Alberta’s Extended Producer Responsibility program, managed by Circular Materials.

Collection schedules:

📍 Galahad
First collection: Tuesday, October 6
Collection continues every second Tuesday

📍 Strome
First collection: Thursday, October 8
Collection continues every second Thursday

🛍️ Use clear or blue recycling bags
⏰ Have bags at the curb by 7 a.m.

The new program will accept a wide range of packaging and paper products, including cardboard, plastics, metal, glass, foam packaging and more.

The Blue Book is collaboratively produced by Alberta Canola, Alberta Grains and Alberta Pulse Growers Commission and has long been a go-to resource for making informed crop protection decisions. The new digital version makes that information even easier to access, whether you’re in the office, the yard or the field.
