International Overdose Day is nearly here. Please come to Hackett Park - Monday 31st - 1 to 4pm. If you can - WEAR PURPLE.
On Monday August 31, the District of Sechelt Municipal Hall will be illuminated in purple in recognition of International Overdose Awareness Day, a global day of remembrance for those who have died from overdose and toxic drugs. It's also a day to acknowledge the many people whose lives have been touched by the death of a friend, a family member, a colleague, a child, a parent, a community member.
The District of Sechelt has also officially proclaimed August 31 as International Overdose Awareness Day, helping to bring visibility to the ongoing impact of the toxic drug crisis and the importance of remembering those who have died.
If you're passing by the Sechelt Municipal Hall on August 31, consider taking a moment to pause, reflect, and remember the lives behind the statistics.
