Whether you're an entrepreneur, a hardworking employee or someone embarking on retirement, Huron East offers countless opportunities and a variety of ways to enjoy the best of life's good things. The largest of Huron County's nine municipalities, Huron East is a composite of productive farmland and industrial properties, innovative technology, a medical research centre, and a strong entrepreneurial spirit, positioning itself well within competitive markets. Its natural and built heritage is unmistakable, gracefully cloaking the towns, hamlets and open countryside that complement Huron East. Vanastra, a small community built on the historic site of a WWII air force training base, offers a good mix of residential and commercial development, and is located on two major highway corridors, within close proximity to rail, air and harbour depots. Seaforth, with its wide main street and well-preserved 19th century architecture, is a viable business district hosting an attractive blend of service and retail. Only minutes from its core is "The Bridges of Seaforth", an adult lifestyle community, showcasing the best of rural and urban living, including a well appointed recreational facility equipped with tennis courts and indoor pool, both overlooking a championship golf course. Located to the north of our municipality is the Village of Brussels, a vibrant agricultural and industrial hub, staged with magnificent old mansions and the idyllic Maitland River, which winds its way through well-kept residential neighbourhoods. Undeniably, Huron East offers investors and newcomers an attractive choice to relocate. We invite you to make Huron East part of your future.

Storm cleanup update ‼

Municipal crews continue to work hard clearing roads and addressing storm damage throughout the municipality.

Staff are aware of the significant amount of tree and branch debris across Huron East. While cleanup efforts are ongoing, residents should expect that roadside debris removal will take considerable time due to the widespread nature of the damage. At this time, there is no estimated completion date.

Our priority remains making roads safe and passable, responding to safety concerns, and addressing the most urgent hazards first. Once these critical issues have been addressed, crews will continue working through the extensive cleanup required across the municipality.

We understand that many residents are eager to see debris removed, and we appreciate your patience as our crews work through the large volume of cleanup that remains.

We would also like to extend a sincere thank you to the many residents who have assisted with cleanup efforts and who have taken the time to check on friends, neighbours, and family members. Your support, generosity, and community spirit have been greatly appreciated, !

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued patience. 🫶

The Brussels Outdoor Pool is now closed for the 2026 season. 🏊‍♀️

As we wrap up another successful summer, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Brussels Lions Club and Nancy Exel MacDonald for their continued support of swimming lesson and public swim subsidies. Their generosity helps make aquatic programming more accessible for local families and contributed to another strong season at the pool. 💙

Thank you for helping create safe, inclusive, and affordable recreation opportunities in our community

Watch for Buses. Watch for Kids.

As students return to class, school buses are back on Huron County roads.

Yellow lights mean SLOW DOWN and prepare to stop as the bus will be stopping soon.

🚸 Remember:
• Stop for school buses when lights are flashing
• Watch for children crossing the road
• Slow down in school zones and near bus stops

Failing to stop for a school bus can result in fines up to $2,000 and 6 demerit points.

Let’s keep our kids safe this school year.

Safe Huron starts with you.

Storm cleanup update ‼

Municipal crews are actively clearing roads impacted by last night's storm, with several road closures in Tuckersmith and McKillop. Our priority is making roads passable and addressing safety concerns. Crews cannot clear areas with downed power lines until repairs are completed by Hydro One.

Please be patient as cleanup continues. Staff are aware of widespread tree and branch debris throughout the municipality, but roadside cleanup will take time and there is currently no estimated completion date.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
