Schreiber Wind Farm Project

In the fall of 2025, Council supported a Wind Farm Project in partnership with Pays Plat First Nations and Innergex. The application to the IESO; LT2e1 Procurement was submitted. The IESO had to consider a large number of applications from various communities and energy companies.

Unfortunately, the Schreiber project was not chosen in this round of procurement. There will be further opportunities for the Township to work with Pays Plat and Innergex to submit an application once again.

Renewable Energy projects are a high priority for the Council and Senior Administration of the Municipality. We are viewing this as a setback and not a defeat. We continue to dedicate our efforts to promote the importance and need for such projects in small Northern Communities like Schreiber.
