Join the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library on September 21st for our Dementia Caregiver Night program. This event with feature presentations from The Ontario Caregiver Organization, the Alzheimer Society and special guest author Fay Martin, discussing her memoir ‘Dementia Widow.’ This is a drop-in program and no registration is required.

LEGO My Library is starting on Sunday, September 13th, 2026, at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library @ 50 East Street. Kids and their caregivers are invited to drop in between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. for LEGO challenges and free-building time. Please note the new day and time! This program will run weekly until November 29, 2026, resuming in the new year on January 10, 2027. LEGO My Library is offered in partnership with Kiwanis of Lakeshore and Kiwanis Aktion Club of Lakeshore.

The James L. McIntyre Centennial Library, located at 50 East Street, will be closed on Wednesday September 09th, 2026, due to a planned municipal power outage. During this temporary closure, the Library's North Branch, located at 232 C Northern Avenue, will will remain open during regular operating hours. We apologize for any inconvenience

Do you have a burning question you’d like a prospective councillor or mayor to answer? Starting this Friday, September 11th, Storytime at the James L. McIntyre Centennial Library (50 East St.) will return to its regular date and time, every Friday at 10:00 a.m. Children and their caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, and a simple craft at this free, weekly, drop-in program. No registration is required.

We had an unexpected patron at the Sault Ste. Marie Public Library on Friday! As much as we wanted him to hang out, experience our awesome programs and services, sign up for a library card, and maybe even take a bat-pack of books home with him, we figured he would be happier outside. He was safely relocated to the trees.
