I completely agree with Lorna. We need to get back to basics in OUR city and stop spending foolish dollars on things we do not need. I think Lorna should run for Mayor !! What Lorna states is the absolute truth on how this city is currently operating and I want to try to change that AND that is one reason I am running for Ward 5 council. Help me help make that change.

Ok, this ia a rant. and there are going to be obscenities because i AM MADDER THAN HELL I had the dubious pleasure (sarcasm) to going to our downtown today, and I came home totally pi**ed. I am an 81 year old woman . This town has a senior population of 29%, and what did some as***le decide was a good idea, to come up with passport parking on the streets of this city. I have had a cell phone for a number of my senior years, don't carry it with me all the time ( I have a life and do not live on my phone). However, some fu***ng as***le decided that to park in this scumbag city, I need to have an app on a phone. I thought I was doing good to be able to call and text, I don't know s**t about fu***ng apps- but apparently to park on the streets in out s**thole downtown, I have to learn about apps. This is bulls**t. The property of my husband and I pay the idiots of this City over $7000 a year in taxes, we have a s**tty road, we have no sidewalks, we have no storm sewers, we have no lines on out street, every winter the untrained snowplow drivers plow up the asphalt on out street and throw it on our lawn, and rips up the sides of our streets, we have a four foot deep ditch in front of out property that the two of us ( over 80) can't crawl into it to clean. Does the city show up to do its job? Not on your fu***ng life. Just like they throw 3 foot ice dams in the front of your drive way and our teenage mayor tells the seniors of this City that it is their problem to deal with, despite the fact that other cities have gates on their plows to deal with this problem.
I think every senior in this City should present themselves at City hall and demand a parking pass. The same holds true for every person who pays taxes, and for every person who can't afford to pay Bell Canada $55 a month, and for those who don't have a credit card on their cell phone. Or to save personnel time they could just send out parking passes with their outrageous tax bills. Instead of spending our tax dollars on tourism incentives and projects for the rich in this city, instead of building parks there is no one in ( like the downtown plaza), the council and administrators of this City should pull their heads out of the asses and start spending out tax dollars to provide the necessaries for the residents of this town. Forget the vanity projects, we're only going to remember you as idiots who didn't give a s**t about the lives of your constituents.
The situation for the taxpaying residents, and I include those who pay taxes through their rents, is so s**tty it is almost unbelievable , or I would think so, if we weren't living with it and putting up with it.
