Safe water matters. Not just for you, but for your livestock too đź’§

Water quality can have a direct impact on animal health and productivity, but changes aren’t always obvious. Naturally occurring elements like sulfate and overall salinity (TDS) can influence everything from feed intake to growth and performance.

That’s where testing makes a difference.

A livestock water assessment can help you:
✔️ Understand what’s in your water
✔️ Identify factors that could affect animal health or production
✔️ Make informed decisions about water management or treatment

Different animals — and even different life stages — can respond differently to water quality. Having clear, reliable data takes the guesswork out of it.

When you know what’s in your water, you’re in a better position to support the health and performance of your herd.

Your well water is naturally full of minerals — but do you know how they’re affecting your water quality? 💧

Things like calcium, iron, manganese and other naturally occurring elements are common in groundwater. They’re not typically harmful, but at higher levels they can lead to hard water, staining, odour or changes in taste.

The only way to really understand what’s in your water is by testing.

A water quality assessment can help you:
✔️ Get a clear picture of what’s in your water
✔️ Understand what’s causing issues like scaling or staining
✔️ Choose the right treatment without guesswork

Whether you’re noticing changes or just want to stay ahead of them, having a baseline makes it easier to put future results into perspective, taking out the guesswork and giving you clearer insights.

Because when you know what’s in your water, you can make the right call for your system and avoid trial and error along the way.

SRC is bringing Saskatchewan innovation to the world stage with proprietary solvent extraction cells (SX) built in-house for its Rare Earth Processing Facility. Designed to separate select REEs to increase their value, 412 custom-made SX cells were manufactured and installed by SRC experts.

What makes SRC’s approach unique is the addition of machine learning and artificial intelligence to enable more efficient, automated operations, reducing costs, labour and processing time, while enhancing overall system performance.

SRC is one of only a few organizations worldwide that have the capability to design and deliver this leading-edge SX technology!

Learn more about SRC’s innovative approach and why this milestone is important to industry in the latest blog post: https://src.nu/3H0qCMS.

Clear water doesn’t always tell the whole story 💧

For cabin owners and anyone else that has a well, understanding what’s in your water can make all the difference. Over time, factors like weather, nearby activity and natural ground conditions can influence water quality, often without any obvious signs.

That’s why routine testing matters. It gives you a clearer picture, helps you track changes and lets you take action — like shock chlorination — if it’s needed.

Staying on top of your well isn’t complicated. It’s about having the right information at the right time, so you can help prevent issues and keep your water safe to drink.

A simple place to start? Knowing what’s in your water.

It's Innovation Week in Saskatchewan and we're looking at the role our Rare Earth Processing Facility (REPF) plays in the innovation ecosystem.

SRC is leading the way in establishing a sustainable rare earth supply chain in North America.

Gearing up for full operation in 2027, our REPF is a catalyst for this important emerging sector in Canada. Drawing on in-house expertise and innovation to develop key processes and automate technology, the facility is uniquely designed to produce a variety of rare earth products that are vital to modern technologies.

Funded by the Government of Saskatchewan, with strategic investment by the Government of Canada, SRC’s facility will strengthen the economy here at home by reducing dependence on foreign sources of critical minerals.

Watch the video to learn more about this first-of-its-kind facility.

Even though most Saskatchewan lakes are still covered in ice, we’re looking ahead to warmer days and it’s the perfect time to check what’s in your well water 💧

If your cabin has a well, routine testing is a simple way to make sure your drinking water stays safe. Since things like coliform bacteria, E. coli and nitrates can’t be seen or tasted, testing is the best way to know your water is safe to drink.

SRC’s Well Water Potability Package includes:
✔️ Total coliform bacteria
✔️ E. coli
✔️ Nitrates (aligned with Canadian drinking water guidelines)

Regular testing can help you know that your water is safe, so that you can focus on enjoying your time at the lake.
